Your location

When you choose “Use my location,” your browser asks for permission to provide your device’s location. We use those coordinates to select weather, radar, and sun times. You can search for a city instead and revoke location permission in your browser settings.

Weather requests pass through Cloudflare to our weather service. Some government forecast requests, including National Weather Service point forecasts, use your selected coordinates. Town names are matched against Census boundaries on our server; we do not send your location to an external reverse-geocoding service. Next-hour radar data is downloaded by region and sampled on our server.

Preferences on your device

Your selected location, temperature units, and location-following preference are saved in your browser’s local storage. Clearing this site’s browser data removes those saved preferences.

Service requests

Our hosting and network providers process information such as IP addresses and requested URLs to deliver and protect the site. Weather request URLs can include selected coordinates. Our weather service omits coordinates from its routine HTTP logs; weather data may be cached to reduce repeated downloads.

Optional analytics

If you allow analytics using the control at the bottom of the page, Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits, page views, and engagement. Google processes technical information such as browser and device information and may infer approximate geography from your network connection.

Our Analytics integration does not send your precise coordinates, selected town, weather searches, or URL query parameters. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. We do not load the Analytics tag before you opt in.

You can choose “No thanks” or turn analytics off using the control below. Your choice is saved in local storage; turning analytics off stops collection and removes the Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site. This does not delete previously collected reports. Read Google’s privacy policy for information about its processing.

Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled. The prepared ad placement does not load Google’s advertising script or request ads. Before advertising is enabled, we will update this page to describe the provider’s data use and make applicable consent choices available.
